A 110th Anniversary Special from Meccanica Serrao d’Aquino…
In 2012, Triumph launched their 110th Anniversary Edition Bonneville T100, a modern reinterpretation of the classic Bonnies of the 1960s. The bike offered a 67-hp, 865cc parallel twin with dual overhead cams and fuel injection, along with a special chrome trim and a silver and khaki green livery modeled on the earliest Triumph models. Only 1000 of these models were sold, each with a numbered plaque on the handlebar clamp and a certificate of authenticity.
Enter Gianpaolo Serrao D’Aquino — aka “GP” — the founder of Milan’s Meccanica Serrao d’Aquino. Previously, we’ve featured such builds as GP’s pavement-ripping Honda CRF450 street tracker and tail-happy Yamaha WR400 flat tracker. For this build, based on a 110th Anniversary Edition Bonneville, GP wanted to personalize the bike for the owner while retaining the classic style and shape of the machine.
The modifications are subtle but thoughtful, giving the bike a great deal more flair and elegance than a factory Bonnie, sure to turn heads in Milan and beyond. Below, we get the full story on the build.

• Please tell us a bit about yourself, your history with motorcycles, and your workshop.
I’m Gianpaolo Serrao D’Aquino. I’m a mechanic and I moved from the south of Italy to follow my passion for motorcycles.
• What’s the make, model, and year of the bike?
Triumph Bonneville Anniversary, 2012.
• Why was this bike built?
The customer wanted to change the bike to a fully personal anniversary model.
• What was the design concept and what influenced the build?
After a long internet search, I found some parts, but I want to retain a classic shape. Sobriety first.
• What custom work was done to the bike?
Remove airbox, new custom alloy side panels, mudguards, exhaust, seat, and little modifications.
• Does the bike have a nickname?
No, she’s simply a Bonnie.
• How would you classify this bike?
She’s like a restomod??
• Was there anything done during this build that you are particularly proud of?
