What is the Motorcycle in Venom?

Venom Movie Motorcycle

Since the release of the first trailer for Marvel’s Venom, starring Tom Hardy as Eddie Brock, fans have been wondering what kind of motorcycle the main character is riding through the streets of San Francisco. Here’s the trailer:

The motorcycle in the movie Venom appears to be a Ducati Scrambler. Introduced in 2015, the Scrambler has an 803cc L-twin engine offering 75 horsepower and 50 pound-feet of torque. According to Cycle World‘s track tests, the bike has a 0-60 time of 3.7 seconds and hits the quarter mile in 12.46 seconds.

While the bike’s name may imply off-road prowess, the Scrambler is not designed for heavy off-road use. Fire roads, curb-jumps, and mild dirt tracks may be in the bike’s wheelhouse, but it is not a true enduro or dual-sport motorcycle.

Specifically, Venom’s Ducati Scrambler appears to be the Full Throttle edition, which features short Termignoni mufflers, a race-inspired seat, and Pirelli dual-sport tires. We originally wondered if the film’s creators would choose to use the new-for-2018 Scrambler 1100, offering an 86-hp L-twin from the Monster Evo. However, a number of design elements — such the gauge cluster and oil cooler placement — indicate the bike in the film is a regular 803cc Scrambler. Though, in some shots, it appears to have the high-mount dual exhaust of the 1100. In others, however, it clearly has the low exhaust…

The bike has most likely been blacked-out to fit with the look and mood of the film and its main character. Thus, the bike may look more like this Full Throttle “Black Series.”

About the Movie

Venom is a spin-off from the Spider-Man franchise, an American superhero movie based on the Marvel Comics character of the same name, starring Tom Hardy as Eddie Brock / Venom, produced by Columbia Pictures, and directed by Ruben Fleischer.

The Marvel character has his origins in a 1982 idea to give Spider-Man a new black-and-white costume made of self-healing material, which would later become Venom. Venom is actually a sentient alien called a Symbiote. This creature has an amorphous, liquid-like form, and must bond with a human host for its survival. The human host enjoys the enhanced powers of the Symbiote while bonded.

Venom’s first host was Spider-Man, who separated himself from the alien creature when he uncovered its villainous nature. Eddie Brock is the second and best-known host, with whom Venom would become one of Spider-Man’s archenemies.

The movie Venom is set to be released in the United States on October 5, 2018.

  1. It’s a Scrambler 1100. The dual underseat exhaust is how you can tell it’s an 1100.

If anyone is curious to what it’s like to ride a Ducati Scrambler 1100, but don’t have the funds to do so, simply put on a helmet, tape a flash light to an unbalanced washing machine, sit upon it, and then turn it on… There, you just saved eleven grand.

  3. Just eatched the Venom trailer 2 and it has a high level twin monster like exhaust, I think it’s the 2018 1100.

  4. At the beginning of the movie it’s a Ducati Scrambler 800, then it gets totaled and at the end (the extra scene) it’s the Ducati Scrambler 1100.

  5. It’s not a Ducati. It’s a Triumph with inline engine. Sweet bike.

  6. Scott Brown

    I thought Triumph too

  7. It’s a blacked-out Ducati Scrambler 803cc Full Throttle. If you stop on the nose wheelie scene you can clearly see the Ducati logo on the tank. And the tail pipes give it away as not being the 1100.

  8. ok whatever but why is there electrical tape on the headlight
