From Handbuilt 2024: Café Racers, Sport Bikes, and Race Machines…
This year marked the 10th annual edition of the Handbuilt Motorcycle Show in Austin, Texas, hosted by Revival Cycles during MotoGP weekend at Circuit of the Americas (COTA). What began a decade ago as a small gathering of custom builders has grown into one of the world’s most prestigious showcases of hand-built two-wheeled art.
“The Handbuilt Motorcycle Show was originally conceived as an excuse to get together with creative builders of all kinds from all over the world who inspired team Revival. What it developed into over the years is an artistic display driven by a passion for design well beyond motorcycles that far exceeds our wildest expectations.” – Alan Stulberg, founder of Revival Cycles
This year’s three-day event would featured over 100,000 square feet of show space with ~150 custom bikes, custom cars and hot rods, an interactive art gallery, and an estimated 25,000 attendees.
As in recent years past, our man on the ground was Kody Melton, a Harley-Davidson road racer, Texas native, and incredibly talented photographer. His shots will give us a window into the show from a multitude of angles and perspectives. In the meantime, here’s a taste of the action courtesy of Revival Cycles and the Handbuilt Show.

Lots of droolworthy stuff, but that TZ Yamaha is what I’d like to take home – if I had a choice. And what on earth was that Mad Max bike (pic by Shirly Petchprapa) – it made me do a double take 🙂
Shirley builds some badass stuff! That mini is called “Doorstop” haha — here’s her build thread about it: https://www.issaralabs.com/doorstop
Going to reach out to her for a full feature with more photos of the finished product!
That’s mind bending stuff. Just astonishing. Mad skillz.
Sono una più bella dell’altra, meritano tutte un dipinto, avessi il tempo le disegnerei tutte…
So, no love at all for The One Motoshow in Portland, OR, huh? It is the grand daddy of this little show in Austin and has existed five years longer. It also has about double the number of custom bikes, non-stop bands, hot rods, art, stunters, demonstration teams, etc, etc…
We feature the One Moto every year. Our photographer who was there last weekend is currently working on his shots from the show. Handbuilt came a weekend before One Moto so we feature it first. Here’s than an archive of One Moto coverage: https://www.bikebound.com/tag/the-one-moto-show/
