El Rollo – Flat Track Fury in the Mud…

The final act of Wheels and Waves 2025 took place in San Sebastián, Spain, at the El Rollo Flat Track. Four categories (pre-50, pre-75, pre-90, and Inappropriate), a 250-meter dirt oval, and no front brakes: riders dive left into the corner, attack, slide, and fight it out until the sixth and final lap.
While last year saw fast, dusty perfection, this year brought something else: a muddy mess. A massive overnight storm soaked the circuit, transforming the oval into a swampy battlefield. And yet, the spirit never broke. Riders, especially those on slick-tired vintage bikes, wrestled their way through each lap with heroic effort.
There were spills, cheers, and moments of pure endurance. Every fall was met with applause. Every comeback, a triumph of spirit. The crowd and all riders, mud-spattered and grinning, loved every second.
Thunderstorms, Machines, and Moments That Matter
Wheels and Waves 2025 was more than a gathering. It was a reminder of why we ride in the first place. For the machines, yes—but even more for the people, the stories, and the moments in between. No matter what you ride or where you’re from, there’s a place for you here.
Then came the next thunderstorm with massive rain and huge flashes. The humidity reached Indonesian rainforest levels. And still…we smiled. It’s all part of the ride.
