KICKBACK 2025 at Sammy Miller’s Moto Museum…

KICKBACK is the longest-running indoor custom motorcycle event in the United Kingdom, regularly attracting thousands of riders, enthusiasts, and custom bike builders to their shows. Just like the bikes they celebrate, the KICKBACK motorcycle shows — and newly launched KICKBACK magazine — have been built with autonomy, grit, and determination from the ground up.

“It’s the sting-in-the-tail industry platform for builders and craftsmen with wild imaginations and dirty fingernails. It’s a celebration of engineering and design excellence which embraces the modern custom scene – and the new wave of thrill-seekers – and those with a true love for old motorbikes, customs and restomods… “

KICKBACK remains a definitive showcase for rare classics and customized gems built in sheds, garages, and workshops by both young engineers and experienced professionals. It is a cool and subversive event that champions the offbeat and loves bringing like-minded people together.

Earlier this month, the latest edition of KICKBACK took place at the legendary Sammy Miller Motorcycle Museum — a charitable trust which houses 500+ fully restored motorcycles from various eras and styles…nearly all of them in perfectly working order!

If you don’t know Sammy, you should. He’s nearly synonymous with the sport of motorcycle trials, which he dominated for more than decade, but his achievements reached far beyond a single discipline:

“What is truly exceptional about Miller’s career is the global success he realised in multiple motorcycling disciplines (trials, enduro, road racing, motocross, grass-track and sand-racing), leading many to hail him as the greatest ‘all-rounder’ of all time.”

What’s more, Sammy performed not only the maintenance of his race machines himself, but much of the research and development. In fact, his innovations while working with Bultaco and Honda helped catapult the industry into the modern era.

“The Sammy Miller Motorcycle Museum is the perfect tribute to his restless enthusiasm and passion for motorcycling – a living, breathing museum with almost every motorcycle in concourse condition. Each motorcycle represents a successful full-scale restoration by Sammy and his team in the Museum workshop, where he can be found working six days per week, every week.”

There is simply no more perfect a place to host a large-scale custom motorcycle event, and the KICKBACK organizers took advantage of the excitement of the weekend to launch their new magazine, KICKBACK.

As for the show itself, it was another one for the books. Our regular photographer, Roberto Garagarza, unfortunately took ill the night before the event, but Chris Mabey (@classic-motorcycles) — a volunteer photographer for the Sammy Miller Museum — stepped in to help. Chris also got some great videos from the event, such as Sammy’s Sunday walkabout:
