Meet CCM: The boutique British brand behind the film’s biggest action scene.
In the 2021 sci-fi action film Infinite, starring Mark Wahlberg and directed by Antoine Fuqua, one machine steals the spotlight during the film’s intense high-speed chase sequence through Mexico City — the protagonist tears through traffic on a distinctive motorcycle with a raw, stripped-down aesthetic and an aggressive scrambler profile.
For a while, identification was tricky due to the bike’s unique styling and custom film modifications. Many enthusiasts initially assumed a CCM Spitfire or a Triumph-based custom. But thanks to official statements from the manufacturer and confirmed auction listings, we now know the truth: The motorcycle in Infinite is a CCM Maverick — specifically a film-spec custom often referred to as the “CCM Maverick Infinite.”

This was publicly confirmed by CCM Motorcycles themselves and validated by an official auction house that sold one of the production bikes used for filming.
Why the CCM Maverick Was Chosen for Infinite
Hollywood often selects motorcycles not just for looks, but for their ability to meet demanding stunt requirements. The CCM Maverick checked every box the production needed:
1. Ultra-Lightweight, Hand-Built Chassis
The Maverick (like most modern CCMs) uses a TIG-welded tubular steel trellis frame weighing far less than a typical production motorcycle. Stunt crews love this because:
- The bike is easy to control at low speeds
- It responds instantly to rider input
- It can withstand multiple takes without requiring major repairs
2. Compact, Muscular Tracker/Scrambler Stance
Infinite features several close-quarters chase sequences, and the Maverick’s geometry lends itself perfectly to:
- Tight turns between cars
- Rapid directional changes
- High-agility stunt maneuvering
3. Customizable for Film Work
The bike seen on screen is not a stock Maverick — it appears to have been modified specifically for the production. Film bikes often use:
- Modified bodywork and lighting
- Strengthened subframes
- Faux exhausts or heat shields
- Adjusted suspension for stunt repeatability
The result is a motorcycle that looks unique while still delivering the reliability and performance stunts demand.
4. Distinctive Aesthetic for Character Identity
The Maverick’s raw, hand-built aesthetic — exposed trellis frame, minimal bodywork, and classic tracker silhouette — visually reinforces the film’s themes of grit, reincarnation mythology, and a protagonist with a fragmented past.
It looks like a bike that belongs to someone living outside traditional society…which is exactly what the film needs.
How We Know It’s a CCM Maverick…
For months, fans debated the bike’s identity, but two definitive pieces of evidence settled it:
✔ Official CCM Motorcycles Announcement: On their verified Facebook page, CCM referred to the machine as a “Maverick Infinite” and showcased production shots of the stunt bikes used in filming.
✔ Auction Listing for a Screen-Used Motorcycle: A 2019 CCM Maverick Scrambler identified as an Infinite film bike — complete with registration documents — was sold through a UK auction house. From the auction:
“CCM were approached to supply a hero bike for an action-adventure film starring Mark Wahlberg, ‘Infinite’ (2021). CCM were selected as an official partner for the Paramount movie that featured an adrenalin-fuelled chase scene that was filmed in Hampshire, Buckinghamshire and on the isle of Skye! Darryl Boulter, former UK & European enduro champion did all the action scenes with the CCM Maverick based scrambler. Film bike used in the movie.”
The on-screen machine includes styling cues from CCM’s Spitfire platform — the Maverick and Spitfire share a frame lineage — so similarities are expected. But the official documentation ties the film bike squarely to the Maverick model family.
Who Is CCM Motorcycles?
CCM — short for Clews Competition Machines — is a boutique British motorcycle manufacturer founded in 1971 by Alan Clews. Originally known for producing championship-level motocross bikes, CCM built a reputation around:
- Hand-welded tubular steel trellis frames
- Extremely lightweight construction
- Small-batch, artisan-level craftsmanship
Over the decades, the company transitioned from off-road racing to limited-edition street and scrambler-style motorcycles. Today, CCM hand-builds every machine in Bolton, England, producing models such as:
- The Spitfire series
- The Maverick
- The Tracker
- The Heritage line
What sets CCM apart is the combination of bespoke British craftsmanship and modern engineering. Their motorcycles are intentionally raw, elemental, and minimalist — ideal for custom builders, collectors, and film projects seeking a distinctive silhouette. This unique identity is precisely why CCM’s involvement in Infinite generated so much enthusiasm among fans and industry insiders. The motorcycle becomes almost a character itself during the chase sequences, matching the energy, unpredictability, and intensity of the story.
Unfortunately, CCM “entered administration” in summer 2025, similar in the UK to Chapter 11 bankruptcy. At this time, the company’s future remains uncertain.
