For Sale: 108-hp 700cc Turbo Supermoto: “Make CR500s look like mopeds…”
GasGas calls their SM 700 a “Red Hot Super Single,” which is a rare case of truth in marketing in the modern moto world. Built on KTM’s revered 692cc LC4 platform — the same single-cylinder engine that powers the KTM 690 and Husky 701 machines — the big GasGas supermotard produces 74 horsepower and weighs just 324 pounds dry. Can you say hooligan?
The big blood-red GasGas is no beginner’s supermoto, for sure. Even the veteran bods at Cycle World found the machine should be handled with care.
“The GasGas supermoto is sharp, raw, and focused. It’s easy to ride moderately, but its wicked power (for a single), razor-sharp handling, and extreme responsiveness requires a lot of skill to control at the limit. If you are anything like me and expect to swing a leg over the GasGas SM 700 and instantly create an highlight reel, think again.” -Evan Allen, Cycle World
Of course, when you have weapon of such caliber, there’s always someone who wants it faster. As big fans of such speed freaks, we couldn’t help but present this absolutely insane turbocharged SM 700 currently for sale from the boys at Kaplan Cycles — the USA’s #1 GasGas dealer.
Built by none other than “Mr. Turbo” (@boostedbikes) — a KTM-certified factory tech — this 700cc turbo supermoto makes a claimed 108 crank horsepower on 93-octane pump gas. That’s a 46% power increase over stock, with just 20 pounds of additional weight from the turbo system and plumbing.
“Nearly double the output of a Honda CR500 — in a chassis half the weight of a modern superbike. That’s not marketing hype; that’s dyno-proven reality.” -Kaplan Cycles
We have the full spec list below. The boys from Kaplan Cycles say over 200 hours of design, fabrication, tuning, and testing went into the build, which equates to around $30,000 in shop labor alone. They claim it accelerates faster than most anything on two wheels they’ve ever tested — more than 10,000 bikes, all told — but starts up, idles, and runs like stock off boost.
The promise of superbike-level acceleration seems reasonable given the power-to-weight ratio…if you can keep the front end down.
“We estimate 9-second quarter-mile potential on sticky rubber. Stock 700s with a pipe and tuner can already break into the 10s — this one will destroy them all.” -Kaplan Cycles
They had AMA Supercross / Motocross legend Justin “Bam Bam” Barcia ride the bike at the 2025 Southwick National AMA Pro Motocross Championship. Barcia signed the bike and claimed: “I need one of these.”
While the engineering and performance numbers are impressive, it’s the riding experience that’s truly wicked:
“We’ve just discovered the single greatest mood enhancer on the planet — it’s called boost. Fire this beast up, and before you even let the clutch out, that turbo spool will light up your soul. When the boost kicks in, hang on tight — this 700 SM accelerates like a rocket ship on rails… When it hits the rev limiter, it sounds downright evil.” -Kaplan Cycles
If you’re in the market for one of the most insane supermotards on the planet, you can find the eBay auction here. They’ve also got an equally insane 93-hp turbo GasGas MC450FE for sale as well.
