Earlier this month was the 2026 Malle Beach Race at Margate Main Sands. Once a year, this sweeping yellow beach in Kent, UK, plays host to a full-on stampede of two-wheeled fun hosted by Malle London.
“The beach is calling and we’re answering with two full days of wild, fast and gloriously unhinged racing across Margate Sands. The tides have lined up beautifully for us this year, meaning the moment the sea pulls back, the racing begins, giving us the whole day to send it through every class on the card. Modern, classic, antique, electric, lightweight, off-road. If it has two wheels and a bit of nerve behind it, it’s racing.” -Malle London
Friday, May 14th kicked off with The Malle Rally100, a 100-mile road rally that wound through the lanes and coastlines of Kent before funneling into the official Malle Beach Race Pre-Party. Then came the racing. The weekend saw the following events:
- The Sprint Race: The original and furious 1/8th of a mile head to head Beach Race sprint.
- The Double: A 1/4 of a mile head to head beach race with a double back around the beach race marker and across the finish line.
- The Derby: The final 10 racers from every class/race in a grande finale knock out sprint race.
- The Malle Go-Round: Seven motorcycles head to head on a flat-track style circuit, with a Le Mans style running start.
- Motopolo: Teams compete in this wild and fun head to head MotoPolo tournament. Form a team and join the training session.
Between all these races, there was the Art of the Machine Exhibition (a curated exhibition of beautiful two-, four-, and even six-wheel machines in the heart of The Beach Race Village), live music, and of course a “Lubrication Station” to keep the humans rocking alongside the machines.
Last week, our friend, photographer, and correspondent Kati Dalek of Kayadaek Photography gave us a full rundown of the event in her piece “Time & Tide Wait for No Man.”
As it turned out, one of our other photographers, Roberto Garagarza (@roga______), was also on hand to cover the action. Roberto got an entirely different series of photographs — many of them action shots — which were too good to miss. So please enjoy this second gallery of shots from the 2026 Malle Beach Race — nearly 200 photos!
Also, early-bird tickets are already available for the 2027 Malle Beach Race, which will be May 14-16, 2027. You can find them here: www.malle.com/pages/beach-race-tickets.
