Recently we heard from one of our favorite new builders, Walter Castrogiovanni, builder of the Ducati Valchiria. Walter worked with the crew at Harley-Davidson Ravenna to build “Daytona,” a street tracker based on the Street Rod 750, sporting a full “Plug & Play” kit created using advanced 3D printing technology.

As you may know, the Street Rod 750, or Street Rod XG750A, is a hot-rod version of the Street 750, with a “High Output” version of the liquid-cooled Revolution motor making 69 hp — nearly 20% more than the original. The bike has an overhauled chassis, sharper steering head angle, upside down forks, sexy tail section, and more.

Street Rod XG750A Street Tracker:  In the Builder’s Words

Our team was inspired by a very flourishing period for Harley-Davidson, the 60’s and 70’s and a very popular sport, Flat Track. In this period, Harley motorcycles were modified to participate in these competition on oval circuits. The bike we have chosen for the Battle is a Street Rod 750, chosen for her agility and lightness.

We practiced a total refitting, with a total redesign of the fuel tank and tail, to meet the needs and the style we wanted to obtain, the special parts are realized in composit material. We designed a full Plug & Play Kit, totally interchangeable with the stock parts, for everyone who wants to use the bike for competitions.

We have assembled 19’ Kineo wheels, tailor-made full titanium exhaust realized by Arrow, Flat Track handlebars and Scream’n’Eagle air filter. We called our bike “Daytona” like the American circuit famous for flat track competitions.

So this is a kit Plug & Play realized with new technique, using the 3D printing to create the mold for the parts. We first designed all parts using 3D scanning, then we started to design our bike, first on the white paper then in our software. Then we realized the parts with 3D printing to create our mold for the composite material.

Can I put on a 130/80R-17 size rear tire to replace a 120/70R-17 size front tire on a stock XG-750A H.D. Street Rod ?
