An RE650 ADV kit from a pair of off-road aficionados…
The Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 debuted in 2018, featuring an air/oil-cooled parallel twin that produces 47 bhp, complete with Bosch fuel injection, slipper clutch, and frame-mounted oil cooler. Marketed as the INT650 in the USA, the bike is expected to become the world’s best-selling twin, and reviews have been quite positive:
“A whole heap of fun without heaps of cash… The Interceptor makes a great base for a custom bike, with plenty of parts available.” — MCN
Enter our friends Jerome and Yvan of France’s Le Motographe, whose builds have been hugely popular with the BikeBound community. The duo has been riding and racing off-road since childhood — experiences that run deep in the DNA of their builds. Last summer, we got to watch them race their Yamaha WR450 “Skeleton” in the Deus Swank Rally, smoking much of the competition — a bike they also raced in the flat track and sprint races, switching out wheelsets!
Now they’ve turned their attention and expertise onto the Royal Enfield 650. Recently, Mono 500 purchased ten new RE650’s for European road trips, then asked Le Motographe to customize them for adventure. Says Jerome:
“As you know, we’ve been off-road riders since we were kids and we wanted to bring our experience to this project. Obviously, the point here is not to try to turn these bikes into enduro bikes — we know what are the limits of each bikes, but allowing them to ride on and off road is possible, and this is why these motokits are made for.”
The kits performed so well for the Mono 500 machines that they decided to commercialize them, selling them directly to consumers. The RE650 Adventure Kits, which can be customized, include upgraded suspension, crash protection, luggage racks, lighting, pegs, exhaust, and more. Says Le Motographe:
“These parts are specially designed and manufactured in our workshop to be ready to bolt on the stock Royal Enfield 650 without any modifications, to allow RE650 owners to turn their bike into an adventurer in a couple of hours.”
Royal Enfield 650 ADV Kits: In the Builder’s Words
About the inspiration:
We did design these parts to custom 10 adventure bikes for an international road trip company that’s been using the Royal Enfield 500 for many years around the world: @mono500roadtrip on Instagram. They recently decided to buy 10 Royal Enfield 650’s to organize a road trip in Europe, and wanted us to customize these 10 bikes for adventure.
As you know, we’ve been off-road riders since we were kids and we wanted to bring our experience in this project. Obviously, the point here is not to try to turn these bikes into enduro bikes — we know what are the limits of each bikes, but allowing them to ride on & off road is possible, and this is why these motokits are made for.
This is because of this project with the company Mono 500 that we decided to commercialize these kits to allow anyone to have his own one. The kit can be personalized, choosing the color of the seat, colors, and size of the luggage and other type of finishing.
About the character:
As I just explained, we didn’t try to make these bikes ready for extreme enduro, but to make them ready to go through any type of places. We actually designed and prototype all of these parts for long trips.
The character of the bike is clearly upgraded by many quality parts, to make better an actually really nice stock bike. The bi-cylinder engine can breathe better because of our stainless mufflers (possibility to add our stainless pipes too). It also gives more torque to the engine, which is actually really nice to ride.
The very best version of this kit, which is the one in these photos, include Ohlins rear shocks and a special full front fork setting from Ohlins too. The bike is more reactive, a little bit higher, and everything can be set for any type of pilot.
The tires from Heidenau offer a good balance between road and off-road, and our luggage rack, associated with luggage from Longride, offers a good capacity to travel, respecting the DNA of the stock bike.
As a conclusion, we have here a bike with more personality which is protected for adventure through some quality parts like our aluminium engine guard, and more pure and visible because of the LED security lights from Kellermann.
What’s next:
We are about to offer the possibility to buy a brand new Royal Enfield 650 directly from us, outfitted with the parts chosen by the client. In that case, we also propose a custom paint scheme on the bike.
To speak about our passion for off-road riding, we are also actually on a really different project for a very special client, definitively designed and built for being efficient in the hardest rally races in the world! This project is done in partnership with Dragon Distribution, official builders for Yamaha France in the Dakar rally. A really big and technical project…ready for a Skeleton Dakar version!! To be continued 😉

Very Nice! Now all they need is a Steve McQueen lookalike to ride it in a promo video.
I can provide an authentic grey sweatshirt with the sleeves removed for lightness.
