The Honda Rebel 1100, also known as the CMX 1100, offers more than twice the displacement of the highly popular Rebel 500, resulting in a stout 86 horsepower. What’s more, the big Rebel might look like a cruiser, but it’s chassis and handling mean it can carve canyons as well as many naked bikes.
“The chassis is a peach, the engine your peppy partner in crime, the riding experience oddly juxtaposed to its intent…you won’t stop grinning until long after you’ve put it away in the garage.” –MCN
The base MSRP for the Rebel 1100 is $9499, but as with any motorcycle, insurance coverage can be a significant factor in cost of ownership. Fortunately, we’ve made it easy to compare rates and coverage from various insurers to find the best policy possible for your Rebel.

Honda Rebel 1100 History
In 2017, Honda released a completely new and redesigned Honda Rebel 300 and 500. The new Rebel would receive a warm reception by the motoring industry, with Cycle World selecting their “Best Lightweight Streetbike” of 2017 and Cruiser naming it “Cruiser of the Year.”
In 2021, Honda followed up with the Rebel 1100, which features the 1083cc liquid-cooled 22.5° parallel-twin from the Africa Twin adventure bike — an engine proven to perform in some of the most challenging conditions around the world.
Cycle World has called the Rebel 1100 “archetype-busting,” because it offers the world a new kind of cruiser. Instead of an Harley or Indian clone, the Rebel 1100 is loaded with Honda’s performance DNA: razor-sharp chassis, ABS, electronic rider aids, even an automatic dual-clutch transmission (DCT) is available!
“The Rebel is still an affordable alternative to a Harley or Indian, but the keyword here is alternative. It offers its own unique take on what a cruiser can be. For some, that makes it authentically, proudly subversive. To others, it’s just a good motorcycle at a good price.” –Cycle World
Honda Rebel 1100 Coverage

If you live in the United States, you know that liability coverage is required in all but a handful of states, though liability limits vary. While a liability-only policy is the most inexpensive option for insurance, we highly recommend adding options such as collision/comprehensive, uninsured motorist, and medical coverage if you can afford it. That’s because the nation is full of uninsured drivers, and liability coverage only covers damages to third parties and property — it does not cover your bike or injuries.
If your Rebel is financed, the bank or lender will require you to carry what’s generally termed Full Coverage, which means collision and comprehensive coverage. Fortunately, we can help you find the coverage you need at a rate you can afford.
