Triple-Piston, 1050cc Urban Bull from Latvia!
The Triumph Speed Triple is one of our favorite factory bikes. The 1050cc, 140-hp, triple-cylinder machine managed to capture the aggressive spirit of the streetfighter, while the Triumph name carries the mystique of the original cafe racers.
Enter Sergey Smirnov, the designer and co-owner of Sculpt Moto. After two decades of riding, Sergey fell in love with cafe racer style and decided to bring the culture to his home country of Latvia. Based in Riga, his workshop focuses on builds from the 1980s forward. Says Sergey:
“I propose to my clients something unique, personal, and, at the same time, modern and functional.”
This build began as a 2009 Triumph Speed Triple 1050. The crew combined a wealth of hand-crafted and high-quality aftermarket parts to create the “Toro Urbano” — a modern, cafe-influenced beast perfect for roaring through the urban cityscape. Below, we get the full story on the build.

About the Builder…
I have been a biker for more than 20 years. Few years ago, I fell in love with café racer style motorcycles and decided to invent this subculture in Latvia. I propose to my clients something unique, personal, and, at the same time, modern and functional. I joined few craftsman and opened Sculpt-Moto.
Now Sculpt-Moto is a Latvian company that joins the best local motorcycle craftsmen to create unique motorcycles in cafe racer style. I, as a designer, gather interesting ideas and combine it in motorcycle projects.
Sculpt Moto Design works with different motorcycle models. We offer a full range of works to transform bikes into unique cafe racers. We offer an individual approach to each bike.
We propose complete projects for restoration, modernization, and rebuilding of motorcycles models starting from the 80’s. We spend as much time as needed to perform the high-quality work and to pay attention to every detail.
This is third project in a café racer style. The name of the bike is Toro Urbano (in Spanish) that means City Bull. Our idea was to give to the bike an aggressive character.
We used many handcrafted parts, including parts made from carbon. Locally custom-made GP-style exhaust. It sounds amazing and rides amazing. Really well-built with great attention to detail. Bike is nice and very powerful – it’s an eyecatcher!
We participated with our bikes in local exhibitions and events, Café Racer festival in Montlhery and AMD Championship in Cologne.
About the Bike…
The real “Englishman” came to us (Sculpt-Moto) from England. Our idea was to re-imagine the essential idea of the Speed Triple designers, to make an aggressive motorcycle, the best choice for “weekend racers.”
All alloy parts were custom made and handcrafted. Weight reduced about 20 kg. Modified subframe, cutting and welding, brackets modification. Subframe reinforcement by custom bracket.
Frame, subframe, rear swingarm, top yoke fork clamp sandblasted and powder coated in gloss black.
Exclusive painting of Toro Urbano: candy apple red, metal flakes texture, ice pearl crystals, marble effect.
Our Triumph started its life as a standard Speed Triple-1050 which was professionally stripped back to a rolling chassis and then rebuilt using the high quality parts: MotoGadget MotoScope Pro, MotoGadget Mirrors, MotoGadget grips, MotoGadget turn signals, MotoGadget breaker box, LSL Clip-Ons, ABM Synto brake/clutch levers, ABM front/rear brake reservoirs, Valter adjustable rearsets, LED headlight with custom bracket, LED tail light, Samco sport tubing, GSG belly pan, LightTech gas cap, KOSO Blade LED license plate light, fork preload adjusters, AVON TrailRider tires.
Custom parts: custom tail section, custom seat, carbon mini fairing, carbon sprocket cover, custom carbon front fender, custom exhaust GP-style, custom muffler bracket, custom fender brackets, custom metal side panels, oval side covers, custom radiator grille, custom speedo bracket, custom license bracket, custom undertray panel.
