The BMW R nineT was designed as a “blank canvas for customizing.” The subframe, headlight, and taillights can be easily unbolted, and bike has separate engine and chassis wiring harnesses. The roadster styling puts a lot of emphasis on the 1170cc “oilhead” flat-twin boxer engine, which makes a stout 110 horsepower at the rear wheel, and the bike’s handling is commendable for its size:

Recently, one of our favorite French workshops took on the big BMW roadster. FCR Original was founded in 2012 by engineers Mathieu Ménard and Sébastien Guillemot, who quickly demonstrated their skills with victories in the French Dragster National Championships. In fact, we featured their “Crazy Bonnie” 2006 Bonneville drag bike back in 2017.
Since then, the workshop has grown greatly in size and expertise, and taken to manufacturing accessories. However, they still take on full bike builds like the one you see here:

They built the bike into a brutish street scrambler that even a hardcore enduro fan can enjoy on a daily basis, including both a brown and black seat. Below, we get the full story!
BMW Scrambler: In the Builder’s Words
This 2020 BMW R nineT project was made for a customer who is a big enduro fan but wanted a motorcycle he could use every day. We wanted an efficient and easily usable daily motorcycle with the finish and quality of the FCR Original projects.
We conceived this bike in our design office, designing the bike before we started the project. We are a complete workshop that can take an idea and draw, design, and build a motorcycle and all of its accessories.
