In 2000, Kawasaki introduced their W650 which was a fresh look at, and tribute to, the early seventies Triumph Bonneville which is one of the iconic bikes of all time. I bought “No. 6” new in 2000 and enjoyed 29000 miles of wonderful backroad rides in the Carolinas.
Recently, I decided to freshen up its appearance and its mechanicals and what resulted is a retro-looking bike that rides like new. No. 6’s performance is modest – it has only 50 hp – but it will cruise at 80 mph and reach 100 with a bit of tailwind. It is totally reliable, safe, and FUN to ride.
The bike has fresh paint – pearlescent white with vintage Kawasaki green and dark blue. It is beautiful in person and you will get unsolicited compliments at stoplights and at your local hangouts. It’s a feel-good motorcycle that you can ride every day if you want.
I will deliver this bike anywhere east of the Mississippi at no charge.
