Introduced in 1974, the original Honda GL1000 Goldwing was the second-fastest production motorcycle you could buy — second only to the Kawasaki Z1 in the quarter mile that year! Though the original flat-four Wings and the six-cylinder models that followed were designed for long-distance touring, many owners and builders have begun to customize these bikes to make them lighter, faster, and better-looking. This is especially true of the early four-cylinder GL1000 and GL1100 models.
