The Boulevard is Suzuki’s range of cruiser motorcycles, ranging from the flagship, fire-breathing V-twin 1800cc M109R down to the beloved, single-cylinder Boulevard S40 (previously known as the Savage 650). Much like the Honda Shadow series, the Boulevard combines old-school character with modern reliability and performance.
Obviously, your insurance cost will depend on which model you own — larger, more expensive bikes cost more to insure. Fortunately, however, the Boulevard can be an insurance bargain due to low rates of loss and theft — if you choose the right insurer, of course. Fortunately, we can help.
Suzuki Boulevard Insurance Rates
Insurance rates are based a complex array of variables, from rider age, experience, and location to the make, model, and age of the bike. Even credit score and marital status can come into play — and rates vary widely from one insurer to the next. For that reason, it’s very difficult to estimate what your rate will be without getting a quote.
That said, the Suzuki Boulevard has been listed as one of the most affordable motorcycles to insure. In fact, one report from Progressive listed the Boulevard S40 as having one of the best records for crash and theft losses — in the top five in both the least-stolen and least-crashed lists!

Full Coverage?
In the US, most riders are only required to carry a minimum amount of liability coverage as dictated by their state of residence. While carrying such a liability-only policy is typically the cheapest option, it’s rarely a smart idea. After all, liability coverage only covers damages to third parties and property in an accident — it doesn’t cover you or your Boulevard.
A better option is what is commonly referred to as “full coverage” — consisting of comprehensive and collision coverage. As you probably know, these cover your bike in case of mishaps, natural disasters, theft, vandalism, and accidents. While it’s more expensive to carry full coverage, we highly recommended it, particularly because the Boulevard — and cruisers in general — tend to have very reasonable rates, and we can help you find a policy that won’t break the bank.
