Event Report: 2024 Glemseck 101

Event report and photos from our man on the ground, Roman Juriš, who brought his Yamaha XS400 “Roadster” more than 1000 kilometers from his home country of Slovakia to attend.

From Roman:  All café racer fans living in central (and nearby) Europe have the first weekend of September circled in red on their calendars. The traditional and increasingly popular Glemseck 101 takes place near the German city of Leonberg. This time it’s the 17th year.

Glemseck 101I will not write about its history, we can all find it, as well as reports from previous years.

Glemseck 101This year brought great motorcycles, racing machines, again an incredibly friendly atmosphere and beautiful sunny weather with temperatures above 30°C. Of course, a lot of beer, German sausages, and excellent organization. In short: the weekend was flawless.

Glemseck 101The quarter-mile sprint race was held on hot asphalt, and I admire both the riders and the  spectators who completed it. But my primary goal was not the race, but beautiful and unique motorcycles that are rarely found together in such numbers.

Glemseck 101I think no more words are needed, photos should say it all. I am not equipped with a great camera, everything (even with mistakes) was photographed only with an ordinary mobile phone.

OMG! That’s some awesome builds. Like looking at art objects in a gallery. Some are hard to understand and some are so extreme that they are hard to criticize. But all are cool and pleasing to the eye…..

I’m old enough to remember “Big Daddy Ed Roth” and we may have the bike version of the genius here….
