Scramblers travel 1500+ miles across Morocco…
For more than a decade, Fuel Motorcycles has organized and led the annual Scram Africa, a 2500-kilometer ride across the breathtakingly epic landscapes of Morocco. Participation is restricted to riders on two classes of bikes: production scramblers and customs. Vintage and modified 4×4 enthusiasts participate as well, giving the event the taste of the Paris Dakar Rallies of the 1980s, with bikes and trucks ripping across the desert in tandem.
Often riders built a bike specially for the event, and we’ve featured quite a few of them here on BikeBound. In fact, one of 2024’s most popular builds was the Ducati Desert Sled that Cid Motorcycles built for Scram Africa rider Conrad Augustus after he cracked the frame during an earlier edition of the event. (Side note: We just received news that this bike was stolen last week, so if you’re in the UK, keep your eyes out!)
Recently, Fuel Motorcycles announced the dates of the 2025 rally — April 26 to May 4 — which prompted us to look back at the 2024 Scram Africa. This year marked the 11th annual edition of the event, and as always, the Scram took riders through a series of stages designed both to challenge their skills and provide unique encounters with Morocco’s natural beauty and cultural richness.
It all began on the Mediterranean coast near the edge of the Sahara Desert, and riders tackled both asphalt stretches and challenging off-road sections, experiencing the diversity of Morocco’s landscapes on two wheels.
The Scram Africa has always been about more than just the riding. Camaraderie is really the soul of the event, with riders and drivers forging lasting bonds around campfires and under the stars, as the sights, challenges, and adventures of the day are told and retold.
Though Fuel Motorcycles is based in Spain, riders come from around the world for the event, and the friendships endure even as participants travel back to their home countries.
Completing the Scram is a testament to a rider’s spirit, skills, and sense of adventure, and it’s a trip that no one who participates will ever forget. Below you’ll find more more stunning shots of the action courtesy of Jake Baggaley (@jakebaggaley.photographer).

Great adventure and greater photos!
Do we have any details (and more photos!) on that Suzuki scrambler?
Agreed, I would love to see a feature on that bike. Looks like a pre-‘96 Suzuki DR650, but that’s just a guess.
We’ll work to track down the owner!
