“Heritage Classic” BMW from FCR Original…
Nürburg Green was a BMW color from the 1970s that paid homage to the legendary Nürburgring in the Eifel mountains of western Germany. The infamous Nordschleife (North Loop) was built around the village and medieval castle of Nürburg in the 1920s — a circuit that none other than Jackie Stewart nicknamed “The Green Hell.”
As British Racing Green strikes an emotional chord for fans of British marques, Nürburg Green calls up the storied history of Germany’s most famous racing circuit, home to so many iconic moments in motorsport. It’s quite gorgeous to boot, evoking the flash of leaves on a sunny day…at 100+ mph.

So it was a proper color choice for this new BMW R nineT from our friends at FCR Original, who’ve made it part of their popular Classic Heritage series:
“The bike complements our successful Classic Heritage range, which continues to win over vintage motorcycle enthusiasts with its retro aesthetic combined with the comfort and performance of modern motorcycles.”
To our eye, the BMWs in the Heritage Classic range are a handsome blend of old-school airhead styling with contemporary performance, reliability, and amenities — and this one might be the best of the bunch.
The modifications are subtle but extensive, with an aim to streamline the factory bike into something more classic, comfortable, and pleasing to the eye. Highlights include a custom rear loop with made-to-measure saddle, 17-inch spoked wheels, Michelin Power 5 rubber, and black finishes on many components like the fork tubes and shock spring. This bike is also running an array of FCR Original’s in-house parts: exhaust system, rocker covers, radiator grille, sump guard, battery holder, and more.
The result is a bike that carries the vintage charm and grace of the old BMW airheads into the 21st century. Below, the FCR Original crew gives us more details on this Nürburg Green nineT.
Classic Heritage Green R NineT: In the Builder’s Words…
A new, contemporary preparation based on the BMW R nineT joins our Classic Heritage range. This new, bolder version remains true to the vintage essence of the range. It features a historic BMW color, Nürburg Green — a green steeped in history that adds a touch of nostalgia to this bike.
As with every preparation in the range, the original tank has been replaced by a more retro model, with references to BMW Motorrad icons. As well as being aesthetically pleasing, this tank is also more ergonomic, being shorter than the original, allowing for a better riding position.
Our workshop, anxious to perfect every detail, worked on simplifying and streamlining the machine. The airbox has been removed to make way for K&N filters, making the bike visually lighter and offering better air circulation. In line with this, the imposing number-plate bracket has been moved to the rear of the bike, contributing to its streamlined aesthetic.
In addition to its visual appeal, the BMW R nineT is also equipped with our specially engineered exhaust system. This exhaust system produces a raucous, powerful sound that can be modulated thanks to removable baffles, offering the rider a unique sound experience.
As for tires, the bike is fitted with Power 5 performance tires from our partner Michelin. These tires, renowned for their sporty performance, will deliver a dynamic driving feel in everyday use, whether on the road or in town.
The bike complements our successful Classic Heritage range, which continues to win over vintage motorcycle enthusiasts with its retro aesthetic combined with the comfort and performance of modern motorcycles. With this new preparation, we aim to offer our customers even more customization possibilities, while preserving the timeless character of our motorcycles.
