Spain’s Francisco Alí Manén of Lord Drake Kustoms (LDK) continues to churn out some of the world’s most colorful custom creations, translating the flamboyant style of his H-D chopper / bobber show bike roots into the realm of cafe racers, street trackers, and scramblers.
His “Soulbreaker” Sportster scramblers have proved especially popular here on BikeBound and among prospective clients, inspiring a number of iterations and spinoffs. The 2007 Harley-Davidson Sportster 883R you see here is one such build:
“Our client (from England) fell in love when he saw our first Harley-Davidson Scrambler, the ‘Soulbreaker,’ and now he has his own: the ‘Bultracker 33.'”
The client requested a scrambler-style Sportster similar to the Soulbreaker without copying it, and also with a red and white color scheme. The bike is now rolling on hand-built 21/18″ spoked black-on-black wheels with Continental rubber, while the fenders, subframe, saddle, and number plates were all hand-crafted in-house at LDK’s Malaga workshop.
The exhaust is a Vance & Hines RSD Tracker 2-into-1 system, and all of the controls and lighting have been modified or updated. Nearly every component has been custom painted or powder-coated.
We especially dig the upper fork guards and big rear fender, though the bike might be a bit too pretty to take into any serious dirt.
Bultracker 33: In the Builder’s Words…
This is the new Sportster Scrambler built by Francisco Alí Manén and his custom motorcycle shop Lord Drake Kustoms. The number 33 has been chosen for this new build that we just finished here at LDK. It’s not the first Harley Scrambler made here in our workshop in Malaga, and it will not be the last — so says Fran.
Our client (from England) fell in love when he saw our first Harley-Davidson Scrambler, the “Soulbreaker,” and now he has his own: the “Bultracker 33.”
The client wanted a scrambler as close to the “Soulbreaker” as possible without copying it, and he wanted a very peculiar color scheme. He wanted us to use very alive colors like the red and white combination you see here.
Initially, fat spoke rims were going to be used, but as the project took shape, Fran decided that to take the motorcycle to another level and keep it more classic, it would be better to use normal spoke rims and add some details such as the side number plates.
