We’ve seen a significant increase in the number of custom rally bikes and desert racers in recent years. From features of rally-style custom bikes to actual rally-raid race bikes, these bikes focus on long-range speed, durability, and navigation over brutal power output or hyper-agile handling. However, they tend to be much lighter and more focused than adventure touring machines. Many builds take inspiration from the Paris-Dakar Rally or Baja 1000 bikes of yesteryear.
